The Okanagan Falls Experiance

Here you can learn more about this beautiful area

The #1 question...

WHERE ARE THE FALLS?

Okanagan Falls named after twin waterfalls

Long ago the water used to rush from Skaha Lake into the Okanagan River via two twin waterfalls around a small rocky island in the river. Now looking down the river no falls can be spotted, only a dam in their place. In the 1950's, the waterfalls were blasted apart in order to make room for a dam which would protect the valley from floods.

Okanagan Falls remains a historic name and reminds us of the beautiful falls this place once held.

Kettle Valley Railway

also known as the

KVR Trail

Bike, Hike, and Explore the KVR

There was once a train that ran through British Columbia from 1915-1980 that would carry humans and cargo throughout the Okanagan Valley and beyond. In current times most of these train tracks have become biking and hiking trails. You can travel along a stretch of the KVR here from Okanagan Falls all the way up to Penticton. The flat gravel pathway makes for a perfect easy walk to bike along the beautiful Skaha lakeside.

You can follow the KVR trail on foot or bike for 13km of beautiful lake views from Okanagan Falls to Penticton.
